Substitute Teachers Currently being Recruited at St. John the Baptist Catholic School

 

About us: St. John the Baptist Catholic School is an educational ministry of St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in Napa, California. We offer a challenging academic program in a safe, stimulating and Christ-centered community. Our faculty, in cooperation with parents and parish, provides our students with opportunities, values and experiences to become conscientious and contributing members of society.


About the position:  Substitute Teachers at St. John’s are responsible for operating a classroom or program in the absence of the primary teacher.  There may be additional duties as assigned by the Principal.


Required qualifications:  Applicant must hold a California Teaching Credential, be eligible to receive one, or hold a Emergency Teaching Credential.   Substitute Teachers must also complete the Safe Environment requirements set forth by the Diocese of Santa Rosa.


Preferred Candidates will have the following skills:

  • Demonstrated ability as a classroom teacher, meeting the needs of a variety of learning styles.
  • An understanding and embracing of creative, research-based teaching strategies and instructional techniques.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team member.
  • A belief that all children can succeed.
  • Catholic preferred.

Compensation: Commensurate with experience.
