eGazette - September 1, 2010
Principal's Piece
Happy Second Week of School!
As I was walking through school the other day, I came upon one of our younger, new students standing in his classroom doorway, gazing up and down the hallway with wide eyes. He looked at me and whispered, "I can't believe this is my school!" His impressions certainly speak the positive, spirit-filled energy that permeates our community these days. We are alive with activities and in this week's eGazette, you will find important information on opportunities to become involved! - Be sure to mark your calendar for our next Family Club meeting on Monday, September 27th 3:15. - Save the date for our Jog-a-thon at Justin-Siena. The theme is "Twist and Shout". It'll be a day of running and 1950's fun on Thursday, October 7th!
- Don't forget to submit your contribution to the Annual Fund. Remember no amount is too small. 100% family participation opens the door to grant monies for our incredible facilities improvements.
Keep up the enthusiasm, share the spirit and remember that...
"We are one Body... One Body in Christ."
In Peace,
Nancy Jordan Principal

Parish Electronic Funds Transfer
Every summer we lose over $30,000.00 in our collections since people go on vacation, etc. Our bills, just like those of yours at home, continue. And in order to meet the needs of your faith home, we need continued support. We need your help with regular giving either with Electronic Funds Transfer from checking or savings, or with use of envelopes. The forms for EFT are in the church and if your prefer to receive a box of envelopes for your contributions, please call the Rectory office at 226-9379 ext. 10. Be sure to leave your complete information: full name as registered with the Church, full address including zip code and a phone number where you can be contacted. If you are not a registered parishioner please fill out a registration form which are located by the Church doors and mail back to the rectory office or bring them in person during office hours. Thank you for your continue support to your Parish throughout the year.
Box Tops
Earn money and equipment for our school! Last year we earned approximately $450 dollars for St. John just by clipping those little Box Tops off participating products. Each Box Top is worth 10 cents and it's amazing how quickly it adds up. Many products have bonus box tops on them right now. Earn up to three extra box tops per product!!! We have already submitted $110 worth of box tops over the summer.
Campbell's Soup Labels are worth points and our school has 9000+ points in our bank. We can redeem these points for equipment. Our ball cart on the playground was obtained through this program. Let's see what else we can get for our school and kids.
You can help us maximize what we earn for our school in several ways:
Clip those Box Tops and Campbell's Soup labels: Have friends and family save those Box Tops and soup labels for you!!! Just send them in to school with your child. We will take care of the rest.
Visit the websites: www.boxtopsforeducation.com and www.labels4education.com for participating products. Check out the recipes, coupons, special offers, shopping opportunities and sweepstakes there.
Register online at the Box Top website and enter their daily sweepstakes to win up to 500,000 ($50,000) box tops for our school. Ask friends and family to do the same and designate St John the Baptist Catholic School as their school of choice. Our goal is to collect 1000 box tops this school year. With your help this is more than possible.
Lee Tatsuguchi Rebecca Griffin Box Top Co-Coordinators P.S. - the class that collects the most box tops for each month will receive a little treat!!!
