Art Camp - Wednesday, February 24, 2010
ASSEMBLAGE Feb. 24th 12:40 to 2:30
"Assemblage is an artistic process in which a three-dimensional artistic composition is made from putting together found objects."
We are going to do "Assemblage" in Art Camp. A key component to the success of your project will be the "found objects" that you use. We would like you to bring a bag of found objects from your home. These objects can be almost anything: small toys, plastic trinkets, figures, toy cars, bottle caps, game pieces, dice, dominos, magnetic letters, fake flowers, photos, notes, cards, wire, nails, scraps of wood or metal, etc. If they are objects that have significance for you - even better. It might help you to theme the objects. For example: lego or car themed, nature themed, Barbie themed, hardware themed, etc.
The trick will be to put these items together in a meaningful way. It will be an interesting challenge. Your artwork may not be the typical pretty picture you are used to but it will mean something powerful to you the artist!
Class cost: $25 Grades 1 - 8 welcome. Please email sandra@csmdesign.com to register.
