celebrates
National Catholic Schools Week 2010-2011
Date: January 30 - February 5, 2011
Theme: Catholic Schools: A+ for America

The nation's nearly 8,000 Catholic schools and over 2 million students will celebrate Catholic Schools Week, Sunday, January 30 through Friday, February 4. Catholic Schools Week is a joint project of the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA) and the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB). At St. Johns, we will be busy celebrating all those who make up our faith-filled community! Call us (224-8388), visit our website (www.stjohnscatholic.org), follow us on Twitter (stjohnsnapa) or find us on Facebook (St. John the Baptist Catholic School Napa) for details about our engaging educational program!
Catholic Schools Week is just around the corner and we want you to see all the details so you and your children are ready to celebrate!
Attached is our outline which highlights the many events and activities of this exciting week which serves to highlight why a faith-based school is so beautifully unique! There are opportunities to eat together, play together, dress in spirit wear, pray together and express thanks for all we have been given in our Christ-centered community.
Of highlight is our kick-off, celebration Mass on Sunday, 1/30 at 10am. All students are asked to attend, with their families, in full uniform and process in during the entrance song. After Mass, our school and parish will enjoy a potluck brunch in honor of Fr. Gordon's "Distinguished Pastor" award.
Parishioners, alumni, current and prospective school families are invited to bring a dish and join in!
If your last name begins with....
A-G: Bring bread items
H-N: Bring salad or fruit
O-T: Bring desserts
U-Z: Bring drinks
If this is not the Mass time that you and your family typically attend, we encourage you to do so; the more school families we have joining in on the celebration for Father the better! Marvin Paul has graciously offered to bake the main dish for our celebration (thanks, Mr. Paul!) but we'll need community help to set-up, round-out the menu and clean-up!
If you can set up, please arrive at the hall by 9am! If you are joining us for brunch, please drop your dish off before Mass.
I believe that with this celebration and award, Fr. Gordon will feel the love, support and gratitude our School and Parish Families have for him and for all he does for our Community. I invite you to join our staff and me in a weeklong celebration of a tradition of academic excellence. Welcome Catholic Schools Week!
In Peace,
Nancy Jordan
