WOW...we are over 1/2 way through this school year and making great progress toward are box-top goals!!! Great job everyone.
For the Month of January the classroom that collected the most box-tops was 2nd Grade...Way to Go 2nd Grade!!
Now on to Box-Top business... The last date to submit box-tops this year is March 31st...we would like to submit as many box-tops as possible on the March 31st submission. Ask your friends and family to collect...they will be supporting a GREAT SCHOOL.

The total collected for November was 548. Not bad for a short month.
The month of December is even shorter...we will be collecting on December 10th...so get those box tops in.
**We will have a special promotion over Christmas Break. For the classroom who collects the most box tops over the Christmas Break will get a special treat when School returns.**

Please check the expiration dates on their box tops and to make sure they are intact on the ones they submit. They are invalid if the expiration date is passed or removed.
Also, please keep the UPC codes intact on their soup labels would be nice. Partial UPC codes are invalid.

Can you believe the Holiday's are almost here and that means lots of cooking and don't forget the Box Tops that come along with all the HOLIDAY MEALS.
As Always we provide a recipe with each eGazette and a Big Thank You to Elise Negueloua for the submission
Chicken with Sun-Dried Tomatoes
3 Tablespoons olive oil
4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves (about 1 pound)
1 shallot, finely chopped (can substitute 1 tablespoon finely chopped onion)
1 can (10 3/4 ounces) Campbell's Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup (regular 98% Fat Free or 25% Less Sodium)
3/4 cup water
1/4 cup thinly sliced sun-dried tomatoes
1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
2 tablespoon chopped fresh basil leaves
4 cups hot cooked extra-wide egg noodles
1/4 cup shredded Parmesan Cheese (optional)
1. Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook for 10 minutes or until it's well browned on both sides. Remove the chicken from the skillet.
2. Heat the remaining oil in the skillet over medium heat. Add the shallot and cook and stir for 2 minutes. Stir the soup, water, tomatoes, vinegar and chopped basil in the skillet.
3. Return the chicken to the skillet and heat to a boil. Reduce the heat to low. Cook for 5 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through. Serve the chicken and sauce over the noodles. Sprinkle with the cheese and more chopped basil, if desired.

WE DID IT!!
We made our box top Goal last year!! Thank you to all the St. John's Families for Feeding the Box Top Bear...with your support we were able to have a School BBQ and purchase a much need BALL CART for PE.

Goal this year is 1000 box tops per Class Room
This works out to be approx. 3 box-tops per weekly trip to the grocery store per family during the school year.
Recipe for 3 box-tops is below: Cost approx $1.70 per serving times 8 servings:
Chicken Pot Pie
App. 2.5 cups cooked leftover chicken and/or canned chicken. (Left over rotisserie chicken is nice)
One can of Campbell's Cream of Chicken soup
One can of Campbell's Cream of Mushroom soup (or any creamed soup of your choice)
One small onion
One bag frozen stew vegetables (may substitute fresh or canned veggies that are suitable for casseroles)
Water/milk/broth to thin filling to taste
Salt and pepper to taste
One package Pillsbury refrigerator biscuits
Dice onion and saute in pot until tender. Add chicken and warm through. Add cream of chicken and cream of mushroom soup. Thin with water/milk/broth till consistency of your liking for pot pie. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Add frozen stew vegetables (may substitute with fresh or canned) and heat through. Pour into casserole dish and place refrigerator biscuits to cover top of casserole. Bake in oven per refrigerator biscuit instructions till biscuits golden brown. Remove from oven and let sit for five minutes. Serve warm. Reheats well. 6-8 servings

Congratulations to everyone for your tremendous effort in turning in those box tops and soup labels. The box tops totals for the past few months are as follows:
November: 495
December: 520
January: 602
February: 210
We have earned $172.00 for our school since November for a grand total of $793.00 since the start of the school year!!! We continue to strive toward our goal or earning $1,000.00 through the Box Top Program this school year.
The Family Club was able to purchase some basketballs, volleyballs, soccer balls and playground balls for the school, in no small part, due to the success of our Box Top Program.
To get the school a "Standard Portable Ball Locker" for the playground is our goal for the Campbell's Soup Label Program. (Look for the picture of the cart on the Family Club bulletin board!) We started with 5300 points in our bank and have submitted another 1700 points for this school year to date. We need 8950 points to get the ball locker. Keep sending in those Campbell's Soup labels!!! Check out the Family Club Bulletin Board for a list of all the qualifying products.

Box Tops for Education and Soup Labels
February deadline for box top/soup label submission for is Tuesday, February 24th. Let's see how many we can turn in for dollars and equipment for our school!!! We've earned $711 and 1300 points since the start of the school year!!!
Don't forget to "Feed the Bear!"
Batman Fruit Rollups, Cheerios, Trix Yogurt, Kleenex, Ziploc Bags. Pillsbury Refridgerator Biscuits. - What do they all have in common? BOX TOPS!!!
Why bother to turn in all those box tops??? Each box top is worth 10 cents. 10 cents here, 10 cents there. It adds up quickly. We've collected 516 box tops for January which adds up to $51.60. Keep sending in those box tops.
Goldfish crackers are worth one point. A can of Campbell's Double Noodle Soup is worth FIVE points! The points we earn from the Campbell's "Labels for Education" program can be redeemed for much needed equipment for our students.

Did you know that one basketball is 650 points? A jump rope set is 1150 points. St. John the Baptist Catholic School currently has 5300 points in its bank with the Labels for Education program. We have collected approximately 1000 points since the start of the school year. Keep sending in those UPC codes off the Campbell's Soup products and help us beef up our account balance so we can redeem those points for much needed school equipment!
Our next submission deadline for box tops is the end of February. 10 cents here, 10 cents there. It all adds up. St. John the Baptist Catholic School received a check for $621.00 for all the box tops collected since our last submission deadline. We currently have submitted $90.00 worth of box tops since the end of October. Help us maximize what the school can get for the kids. Keep clipping and sending in those box tops! Send in those box tops by January 30th. The class that collects the most box tops for the month of January will receive a sweet treat from the box top program.

Box Tops for Education
Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Year. We just wanted to thank you all for the tremendous support we have received for the Box Top program here at St. John the Baptist Catholic School. 900 box tops were submitted for the months of November and December for a grand total of $90.00!!! This is in addition to the $470.00 that has already been collected for the first three months of the school year. GREAT JOB!!!

NOW IS THE TIME TO SAVE YOUR BOX TOPS AND CAMPBELL'S SOUP LABELS!!
In each of the classrooms there is a collection jar marked with colored bears. This is where you "FEED THE BEAR" your box tops and Campbell's soup labels. Twice a month the jars will be collected and tallied for submission to earn money and points for our school. We challenge each classroom to reach for the stars and collect 1000 box tops over the school year. Each classroom that reaches this goal will be invited to a BOX TOP BBQ at the end of the year. (More details to follow)
So don't forget to "FEED YOUR BEAR".
