2006—2007 Scrip Program
(May 1, 2006—April 30, 2007)

For the 2006/07 scrip year, which is 5/1/06 – 4/30/07, each NEW school family will pay the $250.00 scrip fee by June 2, 2006.  Returning family’s scrip fee will be calculated once all electronic vendors have reported purchases through April 30, 2006.  Returning family’s scrip fee will be billed by August 15, 2006 and will be due August 31, 2006.  Scrip is tracked by the amount of money the school earns on your scrip purchases.  Families have the opportunity to recoup the $250.00 fee through the money they earn for the school through their purchases of scrip.  Family scrip dollars earned through the scrip year, up to the original $250.00 fee, will be recorded and credited towards the next year’s scrip fee, or refunded if the family is leaving St. John’s.  If a family chooses not to participate in the scrip program, the total scrip fee will be due again at registration for the following year.  For example, a family with a 7th grader paid the $250.00 scrip fee.  If, for example, the family earns $225.00 for the school through scrip purchases, the total scrip fee due at the following year’s registration will be $25.00.  Since the following year will be the student’s last year at St. John’s any money, up to $250.00, earned during their final year will be refunded to the family. 

Following are ways to meet your scrip commitment:

eScrip
Register your Safeway Club Card and debit/credit cards online at www.escrip.com.  Our school ID is 137617178.  Shop at participating eScrip vendors and your purchases will be tracked electronically and reported to the school each month.  Be sure to update your account regularly and notify the school office of any family members or friends that have enrolled with eScrip so that their purchases will be credited to your account.  See a complete list of eScrip merchants at www.escrip.com

eScrip VISA
Carry the card that supports our school with EVERY PURCHASE you make.  Each month your eScrip VISA statement will show how much support your purchases provided to our school.  Since eScrip VISA only  reports to our school once a year in December, the money earned from January through December of each year will count toward your scrip commitment in that particular scrip year.  For example, purchases made January 2006 through December 2006 will be credited towards your 06/07 scrip commitment.  Purchases made January 2007 through December 2007 will count toward your 07/08 scrip commitment.  Apply by phone 1-800-559-8917 or online at www.escrip.com  DOUBLE BONUS when you use your eScrip VISA at any of the hundreds of eScrip merchants, the purchases get both the merchant and VISA earnings.  See the growing list of participating merchants at www.escrip.com

Albertson’s
By linking our school’s Community Partners number with your Preferred Savings Card, Albertson’s will track your eligible purchases electronically and report the amount earned on those purchases back to the school quarterly.  It is important that the school office knows the names of any family members or friends that you have asked to link their Preferred Savings Card to our school’s Community Partners number so that the amount they earn will be credited to your scrip account.

To start this program, you will need to register your Preferred Savings Card with  our Community Partners ID #.  Here’s how:

1)  Online:  Go to www.albertsons.com.  Click on “In The Community” and follow the Community Partners link.  Sign in with your Preferred Savings Card and when prompted, enter our 11-digit Community Partners ID#  (49000103225).
2)  Or by mail:  Registration forms can be found at any Albertson’s customer service counter.
You will be required to renew your participation in the Community Partners program annually. 

Raley's/NobHill
Raley’s/Nob Hill has introduced the Raley’s Quality of Life Card.  These cards are available in the scrip box or in the school office.  Present your card to the cashier during your transaction each time you shop at Raley’s or Nob Hill Foods.  The amount earned on your eligible purchases will be electronically reported back to our school.  Raley’s/Nob Hill will only report using your card number so it is important that we have your card number on file.   When you get a card from a scrip seller, the scrip seller will write your name on the line associated with that card.  Feel free to take cards for family and friends as long as we have your name associated with the cards you take. 

Scrip Box
We sell various paper scrip and debit cards for certain vendors.  These are purchased by the school at a   discount and sold to you at face value.  The difference is the scrip profit which will be credited to your scrip account.  In addition to the various scrip vendors that are available in the scrip box, you may “special order” any merchant that is available through the National Scrip Center.  Special orders must be prepaid.  
Scrip box scrip is available before school, during the school day in the office, after school, and after the 10:00am Mass on Sunday. 

Scrip merchants that are currently available in the scrip box along with the denominations are listed below.  Due to the fact that scrip is not always available for us to purchase from the National Scrip Center and the length of time it takes to receive orders placed, we cannot guarantee that the scrip you want will be available when you want it.  Please take this into consideration when planning to purchase scrip from the scrip box.

Scrip is paper or electronic gift certificates that are purchased by school supporters and families. A percentage of the purchase price is rebated back to the school. Over 500 different merchants participate in our Scrip program. Scrip purchases count toward any annual Scrip requirement.

The "red" Scrip box holds scrip certificates/cards for most local merchants. Click here to view the scrip order form in Adobe PDF format. To make a purchase simply tell the Scrip agent the merchant and quantity you wish to buy. Make your check to "St. John's Scrip". Use your paper Scrip gift certificate or card as you would cash at the merchant.

E-scrip

E-scrip is an electronic version of paper scrip. E-Scrip merchants are listed at www.escrip.com. Register your bank cards and when you use them with E-scrip merchants, you'll get Scrip credit. Significant merchants include Safeway and Vallergas.

Schoolpop is also electronic scrip using the on line shopping portal www.schoolpop.com. With Schoolpop you visit the website, select a merchant, make a purchase and the purchase amount is credited toward your Scrip requirement. Over 250 merchants are listed at www.schoolpop.com. Schoolpop also offers several other programs. Visit the site for more information.

Scrip now features a special order form for scrip vendors not usually carried in the scrip box. These additional National vendors (View National Vendor List in PDF format) make it even easier for us to make money for our school and meet any scrip requirement. (Note: Print and use this form for ordering. Orders must be prepaid and turned in to the scrip box by 8:30am Tuesdays to be included in the weekly order. Your order will be availble the following Friday morning. Gift Certificates are always popular gifts! Special order forms are available in the scrip box.

Scrip Purchase Statements are distributed twice each school year. eScrip posts their activity 45 days after the end of each month.
