Samara Calforda

Mrs. Calforda was born in Pennsylvania, near Philadelphia and moved to California with her family when she was in First grade. She is the youngest of six children, and attended Catholic schools grades 1 through grade 12. (They didn’t have a Catholic kindergarten way back then!) Mrs. Calforda did her undergraduate work at the University of California Davis, earning a Bachelor of Science degree, and then went on to earn her California Teaching Credential at California State University in Hayward. She is a life-long learner and is currently working towards a Certificate as a Reading Specialist.

Mrs. Calforda has had classroom experience teaching in grades First through Fifth, and has been teaching First Grade at St. John the Baptist for three years. Mrs. Calforda lives in Napa with her husband and three children. The oldest is a graduate of St. John the Baptist Catholic School and now a junior in high school. The other two attend St. John the Baptist.

The Calfordas are an active group who love all manner of sports and outdoor activities. There is a good chance you will run into them on a field, court, or in a pool somewhere! In the few spare quiet moments Mrs. Calforda loves to read, bake or do a craft activity.
